FAQ

General Race Information

  1. I've already registered but would like to change to a different distance?

    Runners can request an event change based on event availability. Participants that want to change to a longer distance will need to pay the difference in the cost. All event change requests must be submitted via email, and event change requests will only be accepted until September 4, 2013. After September 5th any changes must be done in person at pre-registration or on race day. If you are changing to a different distance you MUST notify us and be issued a new bib #.

  2. Can I use a running stroller?

    Yes, running strollers are allowed for both the 5K and 10K. We do request that participants using running strollers start at the back.

  3. Is there a time limit for the 1/2 Marathon?

    Yes, there is time limit of 3 hours for anyone who wants to have an official finish time.  Anyone is welcome to participate, however, there will be limited on course and finish area volunteer support after the 3 hour limit. 

  4. I registered but will not be able to participate. Can I get a refund or defer until next year?

    Sorry, but we cannot process refunds.  You can defer until next year but deferring only secures a place for you in the race, it does not include the registration fee.  If you choose to defer, you will still have to pay for registration next year.

  5. Is it ok to use and iPod during the race?

    Yes, iPods are allowed on the course but we do ask that if you are using one that you keep the volume at a level where you can hear instructions from volunteers and police.  Additionally, the streets are open to traffic so we want you to be able to hear any cars approaching.

  6. Where can I find the race results?

    Race results will be posted on Coolrunning.com as well as this website when they are available - usually by the end of the day on the day of the race.

  7. Can my son/daughter run or walk with me without registering?

    We have a reduced registration fee of $10.00 for children 10 and under to walk or run the 5K with a parent or adult. For the other race distances and for children over the age of 10, registration at the published registration fee is required for participation. Course support and supplies (food, water, cups, etc) are based on the number of registered participants. There is no fee for children in strollers.

  8. Are there t-shirts for all participants?

    T-shirts will be provided for all runners who have registered by the t-shirt cutoff date (12 days prior to race day).  We will do our best to estimate the number of additional shirts and sizes needed for those that register after the shirts are ordered but cannot guarantee you will receive a shirt or that it will be in a size you would like if you register after the shirts are ordered.

  9. Is there a fee for the BBQ at the finish line?

    The BBQ is complimentary for all registered participants as part of your registration fee.  Your family, friends and guests who did not participate in one of our races are welcome to join you for a meal for a small donation.

  10. Will there be water and/or refueling stations on the course?

    Yes, water stops will be placed as follows:

    5K - The 5K course will have water available at the starting line and 2 waterstops along the course. Water and food will be served at the finish area. All runners are invited to stay for the finish line BBQ which is included in your registration fee.

    10K - The 10K course will have water available at the starting line and 5 waterstops along the course. Water and food will be served at the finish area. All runners are invited to stay for the finish line BBQ which is included in your registration fee.

    1/2 Marathon - The 1/2 marathon will have water available at the starting line at 9 waterstops along the course. Additionally, 2 of the waterstops (mile 5.5 and mile 10) will have water and Gatorade and there are gels and water at mile 7.2. Water and food will be served at the finish area. All runners are invited to stay for the finish line BBQ which is included in your registration fee.

  11. Are there porta-potties on the half marathon course?

    Yes, in addition to the starting line, porta-potties will be placed along the course at approximately miles 4 and 9.

  12. Do I need a photo ID to pickup my number?

    No, photo ID's are not required

  13. Can I pickup numbers for other participants?

    Yes, picking up numbers for others is absolutely fine and you do not need a note or copy of their ID in order to pickup for them.

  14. Can I run with my dog?

    No, dogs are not allowed on the race course.  Please leave them at home or with a spectator.
